Theodore Alexis Payene was born and raised in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania in a small house that barely fit the rather large Payene family. His parents, Elizabeth Harrison and Matthew Payene, were a little exuberant when it came to procreating. Teddy was the fourth out of eight children that consists of his three older siblings Sebastian (30), Johnny (28) and Tabitha (26) and his four younger siblings Ellsa (21), Warner (21), Veronica (20) and Emmelyn (16). The family has always been relatively close and being in the middle of such a large brood meant that Teddy often had to do a lot to gain the attention of his parents which is probably how Teddy began to fall in love with theater, he had a flare for the dramatics, he had to, from a young age. First to gain attention, second to feign innocence when blamed for something and finally to lie and be allowed to sneak out of the house during weeknights for parties on the football field during high school. Of course, he never expected it to lead him to the thing the planned on trying to make a career out of.
In fact, it wasn't until he reached the end of high school did he realize that acting was something that he truly loved. He had done minor productions here and there, mostly at the encouragement of his teachers who were constantly trying to get him out of his shell and comfort zone, but it was only when his high school did a production of Grease that he really and truly became serious about it. Stepping into the shoes of Danny Zuko helped him to realize that he really didn't want to be playing Football or sitting behind a desk and he sure as hell didn't want to be serving tables for the rest of his life. No, where he really felt most comfortable was on stage getting to play the role of someone else, and yes, even getting to sing and dance at times though he was always a little awkward when it came to the latter and often needed an extra push to do it.
After graduation, Teddy made a bold move on his part. He accepted his position at the University of Arts in Philadelphia and decided to pursue acting as a career, no matter how many people advised him not to do it. This was his dream and he was damn well going to pursue it. It wasn't going to be easy, that he knew, but it was what made the most sense to him. Primarily, he was an actor, that was what he was good at. He had never really excelled in school. What kind of actor was yet to be determined. He could sing, he had learned how to dance a little, but whether or not he could hold his own in a real dramatic piece was not yet determined. The truth was that while he did long for the fame that television could offer him, he was still very much in love with theater and stage acting. It was what had first brought him to the decision of becoming an actor and of course his was his primary focus at UArts as well.
His time at UArts was well spent, at least in his opinion. Teddy got polish up his acting and his stage presence and made connections, and even re-connected, with other members of the theater community. That's not to say that he was completely serious about his school work at all times. No, it turns out that being a straight theater stud also helped in him getting the women and so the boy who had once upon a time been awkward around the ladies, yes it's a true fact that he wasn't almost a smooth operator as he is today, but college kind of changed all that. When he wasn't busy memorizing lines or attending rehearsal, Teddy was chasing tail. Maybe not in the most vulgar sense of the term, but he did date and bed many women over the course of that period of time and most of those ended up being one night stands. It wasn't that he didn't want a steady relationship, it was more than he wasn't sure what he was looking for and just knew that he hadn't found it yet. He won't willing admit it to anyone, but he's a bit of a romantic.
Having graduated from UArts with a major in theater, Teddy is now out in the world on his own, which isn't such a bad thing the way he looks at it. He's got his best friend and roommate and the beautiful girls across the hall to keep him entertained and he's working random jobs here and there all the time so that he can be able to afford the rent on their small two bedroom apartment although he seems to be unable to hold down a job for too long, he tends to quit or get fired before the two month mark. Generally, he doesn't have much of an attention span when it comes to menial, mundane jobs. It also doesn't help that he also tends to forget he's working if someone he knows should happen to stop by and see him while he's on shift( . )
